Let's start with the solution you are using...it's not near as important as you think! Secret #1...grab a small bucket of water and shoot a few squirts of your favorite dish washing liquid in it. Swirl it around a bit to evenly distribute the soap, we do not want foam and suds!

Next, grab a sponge or scrubber and wet the window you want cleaned, every square inch of the glass. Secret #2...use a squeegee to remove the water from the glass. This is typically where a true appreciation for a professional window cleaner comes into play. Using a squeegee is a skill!

Most likely, you have a clean window at this point. But, why are there still water spots on the window or streaks from the squeegee?...refer to "Using a squeegee is a skill!" above. Secret #3...wipe any excess water with a clean, lint-free towel.
